Hartington is an extremely popular village situated in the heart of the Peak District, close to the High Peak Trail and roughly half way between the towns of Buxton and Ashbourne. It caters well for visitors, with no fewer than three teashops, two pubs, a couple of gift shops, two grocers and a newsagents.
The village is famous for its duck pond and cheese factory (and shop), where genuine Hartington Stilton and other local cheeses are produced and sold.
