Important Lessons I've just learned an important lesson - never leave your lunch unattended if you're eating in the Ballroom! The Lido restaurant backs onto the the Ballroom, and at lunchtime, when things get pretty busy, they allow the excess overspillage to sit and eat in the Ballroom. Today it was curry lunch - fantastic - since I hadn't eaten any breakfast (on account of being to idle to get up on time), I was ravenous, and the chicken curry with rice and onion bahjis really were good. Because of the heavy traffic in the Lido, I took my lunch to eat in the Ballroom, along with a glass of orange juice. It's actually quite nice in there during the day, particularly if you park yourself where you can look out at the sea through the windows, which is what I did. I must have eaten about half of my meal (thankfully I'd eaten the whole of the onion bahji) when I decided to go and get myself a refill of drink. I deliberately left my knife and fork positioned so as to suggest as strongly as possible that I hadn't finished, yet after only a minute or two's absence I returned to discover the table cleared. It was my own fault of course, really, since what I should have done was to ask the people on a neighbouring table if they could keep an eye on it for me (they thought it was highly amusing). I'm a little worried that I seem to have the beginnings of a cold (that rough, snotty feeling you get at the back of your throat). Apparently, I overheard someone saying that there are very few people on board who don't have a cold - could be the start of an epidemic (let's hope not, huh?)

I could have gone back and replaced the mysterious disappearing curry if I'd had more time. In fact, you're allowed to go back and fill up as many times as you like, you're not restricted to just one bash at it. The problem was that there was still a huge queue in the serving area, and I just didn't have very much time before my workshop. The woman on the table next to me suggested going back too, but I'd sort of lost the plot and just finished my second orange juice and went off to work.
On average, I'm getting between 20 and 25 people come along to the sessions. Not everyone is painting; about half are just sitting in, or taking notes, which is fine - it's still a good number. The people who are painting are the same coming back to each session.
See ya

I don't know if anything spectacliar is planned for bringing the new year in, although there are rumours of fireworks - hm - you can see the headlines now, can't you?
Haven't seen any doorways yet (well, actually, that's not true - I've seen hundreds while I've been away) - I know they're your speciality - particulary PURPLE ONES!!!
