I can't stand it a moment longer!!!!!!

Dinner was great, in the dining room, cos the wine was complementary for starters, and they provided everyone one with crackers and stupid hats and long balloons that you inflated and let off, and they made rude flatulance-type noises and flew across the room, only to land as a flaccid pink thing in someone's wine-glass - brilliant!! And the meal tonight was exceptional, as always. the haggis was piped-in and addressed in an agressive manner (traditional, I'm told), and those having haggis were treated to an extra bonus 'wee dram' - the rest of us who went for bog-standard soup had to be satisfied with the house wine but, hey... its free... so who's complaining?

Quiz night was a 'Name that Tune' which we did really rubbish in (we scored 12, whilst the winners had 16).

In the Ballroom, following that we were treated to a local folk band who were quite good (although it really isn't a level playing field, cos they don't get miked up and stuff - just doesn't seem quite fair to me).

Following that, however was some fancy dance thing that JUST LEFT ME COLD - AAAAARGH!!!! Sorry, but it just isn't me. The kind couple who I'd ended up sitting next to kindly bought me a drink and now I feel a little guilty, making my polite excuse and then LEGGING IT!! Just couldn't stand a minute longer of these dancers, whirling each other around the stage in all sorts of impressive dance manouvres - sorry - it just ISN'T ME!!!

It's now 11:20 - midnight is only 40 mins away - and I'm sitting here writing my blog - how sad is that?? So - off to the Preview Bar - see what action is happening up there.............
