Tuesday - Easy Sailing Up at 10:15 this morning; missed breakfast, but that's okay - I'll be sure to eat a good lunch. Instead, I just sat out on deck and enjoyed the glorious sunshine. There is a light breeze, too, but a breeze can be pleasant if it isn't too cold. Speaking of cold, I think my cold is starting to get better. My voice is a little rusty, but I'm sure I'll be okay for the talent show. I had a slip of paper under my cabin door yesterday, after my workshop, asking me to attend a rehearsal today at 2pm in The Preview, in time for the show tonight, which will be at 6pm. Unfortunately, at 2pm, I will be in the middle of a workshop (until 3pm) so will be unable to attend. I left a message for Lauren in the office, who was temporarily unavailable due to the lurgy - see, it's hitting everybody! Anyway, I managed to bump into her this morning and she said that she'll just put me on, anyway. The good news is that she's managed to get me a guitar, the bad news is that she's been unable to locate a capo. For those who don't know what a capo is; it's a little gizmo that attaches to the neck of the guitar, effectively changing it's pitch, without having to change the chord structure. The song I'm planning on singing (Banks of the Lee - Traditional Irish folk song) I usually play with the capo on the second fret. As it happens, I reckon I'll be okay - with my voice being as rusty as it is, a drop in key should be better than trying to hit any of the higher notes, anyway. It was such a nice morning, even the captain was going walkabout, stopping at tables and talking to passengers. Ah - life on the ocean wave. I wanted to ask him if he'd seen the 'Green Flash' at sunset, but he never reached my table. He spent a long time being monopolised at a nearby table, where he was being asked loads of questions - and you can tell when someone is actually trying to get away by the surreptitious way they keep looking at their watch. For this afternoon's workshop I'm going to have them painting pyramids. For other reason, really, than it's topical, and relevant to the cruise. I think I only have two more workshops now to do (after today's) - tomorrow (Wednesday) we're in Gibraltar, which is followed by one sea-day (I think), then we stop at Lisbon (Friday) and then we're only two days short of Southampton. John, off our table, has booked The View, for the six of us, on Saturday Night, our last night. The View is an exclusive restaurant situated above The Preview Bar, with its own special menu and embience. I've been up there once during the cruise, with John, Anne (beauty lecturer) and Julie (computer lecturer), and it really is very nice. Groups or couples can eat there as long as they book in advance. So that will be nice for the final night!! Okay - got to go - need to do a bit of prep for this afternoon, and lunch is only 30 minutes away.
