Last Lesson

That's that then - I've just finished my last workshop of this cruise - and it was a stormy, wave-swelling, spray-crashing sea-scape, painted sock in the middle of a rough Bay of Biscay - how perfect can you get? It was so rough that I could barely stand, and people's water-jars were dutifully sliding around their tables. Tomorrow, we display our results to the rest of the ship in a grand ART EXHIBITION - in the Britannia Lounge Foyer 2pm - 4pm. I'll be displaying my own work and a few prints and sketches, and have been promised a table on which to promote my book and DVDs, and the whole thing is going to be advertised in the Daily Ruby Blurb. Yesssssss!!!

I've told everyone to turn up and tell their friends and hopefully make a bit of an occasion of it (and I'll hopefully sell all the copies of my book that I have on me!)

It's coming up to 4pm now, so I'm off up to the Cloud 9 gym for my daily workout and hopefully a game of Table Tennis if John or Dulcie are up there. Tonight is the very last Formal evening, so the old dinner suit and dickie bow will be coming out for a final fling.

Hi Juli,
You must have missed that one earlier. My uploading capabilities have been zero, from the ship, and have only managed to upload pics successfully on 2 occasions, from shore-side internet cafes. You should be able to find them here:

http://pub22.bravenet.com/photocenter/

There's the camel pic, me in a bow-tie etc, and one standing at the pointy end of the ship.

If not, hang on for a week, and I'm hoping to have a fully illustrated version of the blog etc, with tons of photies and sketches from the trip available asap.
you'll be pleased to know I won 4 games to 1 at table tennis!

hi peter
your blog has read brilliantly you have done a great job & very entertaining too! I'm sure that all who have read it, feel they have shared your adventure with you! I certainly feel i have & thoroughly enjoyed reading it!
I once remember a really rough crossing many years ago when i was going to france. The ferry went from side to side & i loved it cause a crazy thrill seeking junky like me would lol!! When i got off onto land,i was walking in a very perculiar way, i guess thats what they mean by sea legs lmao!! I thought it was great & i was in my teens then!
So please you have had a great time & gained lots of inspiration for your fabulous paintings.
take care on your journey home & look forward to seeing you soon! Happy New year to everyone! look forward to seeing lisa & simon at Vin garbett concert at the end of the month. what date was it again the 25th? better book night off!! Nigel sends his reagards too!

Many thanks for that
It feels rather strange coming to the end of it - I'm rather going to miss writing the journal!
We came a poor second in the quiz tonight, and I went on to come third at a games of Scrabble with Ruth, Mary and John from the quiz team. The comedian is performing up in The preview in a few minutes, so that's where I'm off to now.
Vin Garbutt is the 26th.

Hi Judy
I thought of you when I was taking part in the quiz nights! I wonder if your sessions at (Whatstandwell?) are as lively and agressive as some of the quiz nights we've had here. Do you swap papers with adjoining tables to score? ( a horrible bloke next to us last night insisted on only giving us half a point when it was most definitely a full point - when we got the paper back, we changed it back to a full point and he had a RIGHT GO at us - I thought it was going to descend into fisticuffs!) It's been hilarious at times - but also occasionally quite nasty. Unbelievable - you sometimes just have to remind people that its nothing more than a bit of fun and to watch out that they don't burst a blood vessel!

Book and film - hmm there's an idea! If there are any travel-book publisher / editor - type people out there who like what I've written and would like to consider me as an investment perhaps they'd like to get in touch! I'm more than open to offers!!

In the meantime, I've got about 20GB of video footage and photos that I'm going to be editting down into a video-diary-type production of my travels - a task I'm really looking forward to. I'm also going to be putting together an illustrated version of the blog with photos and sketches etc. for all you good people to enjoy should you wish.

See you at the Stage 3 workshops in April, hopefully
See ya
Peter
