Fingers Crossed…

Today, just before the second class, we had another brief visit from the Captain. He asked how everything was going, and when we said that all was good, he told us that we should make the best of the class because the weather after Ponta Delgada is expected to get rough, so it might be our last of the trip. This didn’t exactly fill everybody with confidence, and a few folks seemed quite worried; I placated them by telling them that the Captain was probably just exaggerating, or, if he wasn’t then he was underestimating our resilience to a bit of bad weather (fingers crossed behind back as I said this…).

Despite the red marks floating around the periphery of the navigational charts, signifying there are still rough seas to the North of us, and the Captain’s words of doom, it seems hard to believe with the pleasant weather we’ve had today (except for rain this morning) that things are likely to deteriorate to a point where we have to cancel any of the last three classes.

There really isn’t much else to tell. After running my two classes this morning, I spent the afternoon working, and this evening has been pleasantly quiet and low key. Tomorrow, we are due to arrive at our final destination; Ponta Delgada in the Azores, and I’ve had a peak at the dispatch sheets in the shorex office, so I know that we are not down for tour escorting duties (yeey!).
