BACK TO BUSINESS
Today, my classes have resumed, after our Caribbean break. It’s the second of six sea-days required to get us to our next port-of-call, Ponta Delgada.
It seems I will be doing mornings until further notice; the first class at 9:30am, followed by a second class at 11am. That’s every morning except the 10th, in two days time, when the ship will be running a ‘World Food Festival’, for which I’ve been told that all tables on the ship, including those in the Conference Room, will be commandeered.
‘People-power’ may have succeeded in bagging a few extra sessions for those who are uber-keen, but that still doesn’t mean that classes will be full to bursting (folks who claim to be speaking on behalf of, and in the interests of, others, often aren’t). The fact is; all activities on board are always up against something else. Today, I was competing against a question and answer session with the Captain in the Show Lounge at 11am (always a popular attraction), and my morning sessions also clash with on-going Bridge classes, of which several of my group are active members. That said, the turnout was quite healthy, and despite having to get up early to set the room up, morning classes mean I get the whole afternoon to myself.
Two days down… four more to go… so far the sea conditions have been favourable – long may that continue…
