{"id":119,"date":"2014-01-13T22:26:37","date_gmt":"2014-01-13T22:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.peterwoolley.co.uk\/blog\/?p=119"},"modified":"2014-11-24T17:02:20","modified_gmt":"2014-11-24T17:02:20","slug":"monday-at-sea-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.peterwoolley.co.uk\/blog\/monday-at-sea-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Monday &#8211; At Sea Again"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"itemHeader\">\n<p>We&#8217;re at sea once again, on our way to Mindelo, in the Cape Verde Islands.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"itemContent\">\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">Although my first class isn&#8217;t until 1pm, I set the alarm for 8am, to give us time to do some work. We were up in Marco&#8217;s for breakfast at a few minutes past 9, to the amazement of one or two of the regular early birds (Linda-the-Jewellery, and Neil-the-Speaker)&#8230; guess who forgot to put the clocks back an hour last night&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">So; with an extra hour in our pocket (which, frankly, I could have done with sleeping), we took our cups of tea and coffee out on deck to watch the waves go by for a while before heading back indoors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">The morning was spent on administration, associated with keeping track of who has been to the classes, who hasn&#8217;t, who&#8217;s paid the small fee (per session) and who hasn&#8217;t, and who, from the extensive waiting list would like to start coming to the classes as soon as a space becomes available. I also did some online student work, all of which filled our morning up until classes time. Setting up is a whole lot quicker now Tracey is here, and the transitions from one class to another are far more efficient. I even managed to eat a couple of rolls for my lunch between the second and third classes, courtesy of Tracey, my Admin Department, Accounts Department, Procurement and Catering Departments.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">This evening, the lass in Reception asked me, as I passed by, if I&#8217;d seen the Daily programme for tomorrow. When I told her I hadn&#8217;t yet, she handed me a copy&#8230; guess who made the front page&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma;\">The Daily Blurb, as I like to call it, on sea-days, always features a photograph and small write-up of someone working on board ship. These usually start with The Captain, then the Chief Engineer, Head Chef and Cruise Director&#8230; this time it was my turn&#8230; yippeee!
