There&#8217;s still quite a wind blowing, and the front of the ship has been closed off as a precaution, meaniing the birders have been confined to the back deck. Apparently there were two significant sightings of whales this morning. I couldn&#8217;t have seen them, though, because I was busy taking a lesson; today I had them painting penguins, in preparation for our Falklands visit tomorrow, which seemed to go down extremely well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s been a long, slow afternoon, struggling with a particularly sluggish wi-fi service and lounging around reading.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everyone is monitoring the sea conditions very closely, with us due to be arriving at the Falklands tomorrow.
