This morning, I painted a couple of monkeys from Iles Du Salut, whilst catching up on the BBC Kermode and Mayo Film Show podcasts, which I downloaded in Castries (Hello to Jason Isaacs…).<\/p>\n

In the classes this afternoon, I had them all painting an Iguana, the results of which were particularly impressive. Other than that, it’s been an unextraordinary day. It was a Saturday, but it didn’t feel like a Saturday (although hardly any day feels like it’s supposed to on board ship). The ambient temperature is definitely changing, though (getting cooler), and for the last two days, the sea has become progressively rockier. I wouldn’t say ‘rough’ specifically’, because, as I’m teaching my class, I’m able to glance out at the sea, and the surface of the sea has looked remarkably smooth all afternoon, with hardly any white wavecaps at all. There has been a considerable swell, though, which has clearly upset a few people, having them rolling around and hanging onto bannisters, and the sick-bag fairy has been brought out of hibernation to do her rounds.<\/p>\n

This evening, is a formal night. Unusually, there isn’t a show on; instead there’s a ‘passenger’ show, featuring a choir who have been practising hard for the occasion, a display of ballroom dancing and a line dancing display. None of these are things that I’m particularlly interested in, but I’ll go along anyway, because I enjoy a beer in the Show Lounge. Looking ahead to tomorrow night’s programme, however…. they’re going to be doing Karaoke Night again. Yes!!! Bring it on!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
