It promises to be very different from the experiences roughly one year ago, when we sailed to Iceland on the Voyager, in pursuit of the total eclipse. There should be no rough seas this time around, and I&#8217;m going to risk not packing the\u00a0thermal undies.<\/p>\n<p>This will be two cruises back-to-back. On the first, we hope to be enjoying lush rain forests, sandy beaches and hidden gems (according to the Voyages of Discovery website), as we journey from Ecuador to Mexico.\u00a0Highlights of the second cruise include a visit to Havanna, Cuba,\u00a0Ocho Rios in Jamaica and the islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique, before finishing up at Bridgetown, Barbados.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m looking forward to travelling through the Panama Canal (a first for me), but not looking forward to the 9-hour flight to Ecuador.<\/p>\n<p>As always, I will be keeping a log of the journey as it happens (I&#8217;m not expecting any mutinies or icebergs, but one should never be too complacent&#8230;).
