Stencil Brush
A useful bit of kit for your Art-box (if you don’t already have one) is a stencil-brush. Interesting effects can be achieved by creating a mask out of cardboard to protect the surrounding area, and literally ‘scrubbing out’ a highlight to the desired shape. Also, as a salvaging technique, whole objects and areas can be removed if they offend you! Try it: they’re only a couple of pounds from all good art/craft shops.
