VALENTINES DAY AT SEA
Today, Valentine’s Day, has been another sea-day.
We know it’s been St valentine’s Day because there were lots of red pieces of paper cut into the shape of hearts, with sickly romantic saying written on them, plastered all over the ship. We also know it’s been St valentine’s Day because this evening was Formal Night, and the Show was ‘The Love Show’, followed by a ‘Grand Chocolate Buffet’ in Scott’s Bar at 10:30pm.
I had classes today, which were back up to full-attendance after the slightly lightweight attendance of the previous classes (on the half-day sailing into Ushuaia). Creating seapray effects with sandpaper seemed to go down extremely well.
Later, Tracey and I sat drinking tea and chatting with Ian the Photographer in the Bistro, and as dinnertime came around, we decided not to change into formal gear. Instead, since we were already in the Bistro, we ate dressed as we were, and then went up to the front deck to look out for Albatrosses (of which there have been many sightings today, of the particularly large variety…). Deciding to give the ‘Love Show’ and Choco-buffet a miss, we bought a takeout from one of the bars as we finally headed inside. We’re up to Episode 8 of Season 1 GOT, and everything’s just starting to really kick-off…
Although the weather hasn’t been particularly rough, the sea has been a tad bouncy today, and the portholes have, once again, to our dismay, been closed. Hopefully it won’t be for long.
Tomorrow, we will be arriving in Valparaiso, where we are due to stay overnight.
