At Sea
It’s been another relatively uneventful day at sea. Having classes in the afternoons means we are able to get up at a civilised time and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The remainder of the morning was more or less a repeat of yesterday, with us sat on the sheltered deck by the pool, tapping away on our laptops. Being there also places us in a strategically good spot for lunch when it comes around, with the open air grill and the bistro being right next door.
Yet again, it was a good, healthy turn out for the afternoon watercolour classes; today, I had them painting a quiet boat scene – considerably less stressful than yesterday’s perspective exercise. In the evening, we were entertained by comedy impressionist Christopher Gee, who joined the Magellan in Madeira, gave us his first show on his first evening aboard, and who will be leaving the ship in Cape Verde, which is why his shows have been placed so close together.
Not much else of note has happened, although we did discover, in enquiring as to whether or not we will be given tour escorting duties in Mindelo (we will), that we’ve lost on of the Shore Excursions team, who has had to leave the ship and fly home for personal reasons. Fortunately, there are still three people woring in Shorex, so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem…
