Monday – Rough Seas

The choppy seas of yesterday got rougher overnight; there’s quite a substantial swell today, resulting in many people doing the Marco Polo Ballet.

There’s still no mobile phone signal. I don’t remember there being a ‘dead zone’ after the Azores, last year, but that certainly seems to be what we’re experiencing at the moment; it just means that, when I finally get to upload these posts, there’ll be about three or four new ones, all together…..

Today, I had A and B groups painting an iguana…. it’s the iguana I painted last year, and is the first time I’ve painted it as a group exercise… I have to say; not bad results at all!

This afternoon was the Passenger Talent Show, which was brilliant. These things are usually bursting at the seems with singers, but today, there as a lot of variety… including a performing flea – which was hilarious!!

The good news is; the storm that’s been lashing us and throwing us about all day has started to move on, and the internet appears to have come back, so I’m able to update the blog (still no phone signal, though).

Tonight’s show was a repeat of an earlier show – for the last few days, passengers have been asked to vote for the show they would most like to see again. I’ve had my fingers crossed for their version of ‘Joseph’, because I wasnn’t feeling well on that night, and missed it – everyone said how good it was. Sadly, the winner was; ‘From Russia With Love’, featuring songs and music from the homeland of 90% of the crew…. I just didn’t fancy it.

Quiz time, at 9pm, was their take on ‘Deal Or No Deal’. Gareth held it all together extremely well, as Noel Edmonds, and an imaginary ‘Banker’; despite it being quite fun, and funny, to watch, there’s no getting away from the fact that the game itself is positively tedious.

There are just two more full days to go before we arrive home in the UK. Tomorrow, I’ll be running the last two of my classes, and holding my end-of-cruise WI Jumble Sale of all the exercise pieces…. the highlight, though…. our Grand Exhibition…. will be on Wednesday…. bring it on!!
