Sunday – Mindelo, Cape Verde Islands

Today, we arrived in Mindelo. This is our third visit, and once again, it’s a Sunday! In other words, we’ve yet to see the place in full swing; I imagine it can be quite bustling… who knows? Either way, Mindelo doesn’t change very much (on a Sunday, at least); men hang around on street corners in social groups, leaving one...

A 6am flight from London Heathrow brought her to Madeira’s International Airport at roughly 10:30am. She was on board the Marco Polo by 11am.   It’s only been a short stay in Funchal; we left port at 2pm, heading for Mindelo, in the...

Wednesday – At Sea

I really hadn’t planned to stay up late, but peer pressure got the better of me (m’lud). Last night’s late-night cabaret, in Scotts Bar, came highly recommended, and I have to say I’m glad I stayed awake for it.   Titled ‘Trash The Seventies’, Gareth (Cruise Director), Amy (Assistant Cruise Director), Richard (UK Guest Act) and Andi (Performance Host) all...
