A Visit from The Captain
Today, the sea swell doesn’t seem to have been quite so severe, and the weather outside has been encouragingly sunny. The navigational charts show that the storm has moved slightly, so we’re hoping the worst might still be avoided.
This morning’s class had a brief visit from the Captain, who poked his head around the door to see how everyone was getting on with their stone walls and sheep (I’m proud to say that everyone was making an excellent job of them).
Straight away, though, the minute the captain appeared, a voice from the back of the class asked him ‘When are we going to get the rough seas?’. Without missing a beat, the captain said ‘After Ponta Delgarda’. He had also been heard explaining to some passengers in the Columbus Lounge that the storm keeps moving, so although things seem quite calm today, its movement is constantly being monitored. As the day has gone on, the swell has returned; so far so good…
Tonight, the ship’s clocks will be put forward another hour, so tomorrow we will only be one hour behind the UK, and I have just two classes to go before we reach Ponta Delgarda.
