Tuesday – Induction Day

It’s been a busy day today. From 9:30am until 11:30am and again from 2pm until 4pm, was an opportunity for passengers to meet their resident Craft Lecturers (that’ll be Peter-the-Wood, Linda-the-Jewellery and myself, Peter-the-Painter, then), see what we all have to offer, and, where necessary, sign up for places on our workshops. Three tables were placed in the lobby, near Reception, and each of us displayed our wares. Actually; there were four tables put up, to accommodate a fourth person; Michelle-the-Camera is in fact Michelle Monro, daughter of the singer Matt Monro, who is on board to give some lectures and do an ‘Audience with..’, but has also been asked to run a couple of photography workshops. I’m pleased to say the day went extremely well, for myself at least. By the end of the morning session, I’d filled all 72 places bar one; by the end of the afternoon, I’d filled that last space and built up a reserve list of 17 further interested passengers… so that makes me happy…. I’ll be running 3 sessions a day, on every sea-say afternoon from now until the end of the cruise – work starts tomorrow! Bring it on!! The sea has behaved itself, but things have started to get just a weeny bit rocky this afternoon and into the evening, as we reach the Eastern end of the English Channel and prepare to turn left into the Bay of Biscay. One lady was actually heard commenting on how rough she thought it was… you have no idea, love!….
