Wednesday – Pitchin’

We had a rough night last night, and the seas have continued today. After breakfast, Tracey and I went up onto the top deck, mostly to get some fresh air, but also to watch the movement of the ship. Stood on the open deck, it’s quite amazing to watch how the ship is being tossed about on the waves. Today, it’s mostly been a ‘pitching’ motion, with the bow and the stern acting like a giant see-saw.

I had a class, of course, with it being a sea-day. Most appropriately, today’s session was on painting a seascape, and using sandpaper to create the spray. With the Lookout Lounge being situated right at the front of the ship, we were perfectly placed to see the pointy end plough into the waves, and the spray crash over the lounge’s windows… exciting stuff.

I spent much of the afternoon working in the cabin, until iit was time to head upstairs for dinner. The rocky seas have persisted, and the captain has warned us that it’s probably going to continue for the next couple of days….
