DOLPHINS, AND LOTS OF ‘EM

Once again, all 20 places in both the morning and afternoon classes got filled very quickly. So quickly in fact that many folks were waiting for us when we arrived for sign-up at about 8:20am, due to start at 8:30am. By 8:30, the majority of places were filled, and by 8:40, there were no further slots available, meaning we were sat there for the remaining 45 minutes or so with nothing to do but break the news to any latecomers.

Today, I had them painting winter trees. In fact, the task seemed to absorb both groups so much that I reckoned I could have slipped out to the bar and just poke my head around the corner every five minutes or so to check they were all awake and nobody would have noticed.

Weather-wise, it was largely grey and overcast, with a few sporadic rain showers, although it did start brightening up in the afternoon. One major highlight of the day happened between classes; just before lunch – which was fish chips and mushy peas, it being Friday – we were stood looking out from the cabin balcony, and was delighted to see a large pod of about thirty dolphins pass by. As is always the case with this things, however, we didn’t have our cameras at the ready, and neither of us wanted to dash inside to grab a camera for fear of missing the spectacle.

Apart from the thrill of the dolphins, there isn’t a lot else to report; once again, we were both quite drained at the end of it, and looking forward to our next port day tomorrow, when we are due to arrive in Tunis, Tunisia.
