Friday – Merry Christmas – Ho! Ho! Ho!

I can’t remember the last time I worked on Christmas Day.

All things considered, the day went rather well. It’s not like there was a lack of things for people to do; almost every concievable activity was laid on throughout the day, proceeded by the word ‘Christmas’, to give them a festive flavour.

The good news is; the weather has calmed down considerably. Passengers were in a suitably good mood, sporting their bright, jangly, and in some cases flashing, Christmas Jumpers, and despite the packed programme, I managed to attract two full, bouyant classes painting a wintery sunset and exploring the issues associated with working from photographs.

As always, we chose to eat Christmas Dinner in Marco’s Bistro, preferring its informal atmosphere to that of the Waldorf Restaurant. It was formal night tonight, but that was okay… this is Christmas after all; a turkey carvery was followed by an entertaining Christmas Showtime in the Marco Polo Lounge.
