Tuesday – Sea Day

Today was our first full day at sea, as we head towards Norway. We checked the map to see just how far North we would be heading over the next week or so and was quite amazed…. much further North than St. Petersburg…

I’ve been allocated the afternoons in the conference room, which gave us the morning free to enjoy some fresh air and sunshine (so much sunshine, in fact, that there were people actually up on deck sunbathing on the loungers). We also looked in on the Storyteller we have on board for this trip, who recited a handful of entertaining poems and stories, before heading on down to the conference room.

Sandra’s Calligraphy lesson had overspilled slightly, leaving us only a small amount of time to get set up (we’re missing the luxury of having the room to ourselves already). After a bit of a misunderstanding, and misplacement of the conference room key (of which there is only one), and me getting stressed along the way, my classes went without a hitch. The good news is; it looks like I’m only going to have to run 2 classes per sea day with gives us a little more time between classes, and a bit more time for ourselves.

In the evening, it was the first formal night of the cruise. To be honest, both of us are still under the weather; I still have my irritating cough, and Tracey has developed a sniffle, so a couple of quite drinks and a read in the Captain’s Club was followed by a relatively early night.
